Isn't she lovely..........

Here's my other little girl. I know I said I'd do a post on each of my kids and I still intend on doing that because I have some funny and awesome things to say about each one of them. But for now, I wanted to post this picture of Alyssa. As her sister says...Isn't she loverly?! No, that's not a typo, that's a word that they like to use!!

Aint no sunshine when she's gone......

My heart is broken.......but hopeful. Kristyn and Matt left today for their new home in Tennessee. Check out her blog to see pictures!! Such an exciting time for them.
Funny story...........Mike helped Matt hook their car to the back of the moving truck last night. Mike told Matt to take a spin around the block to test it out and for Matt to get a "feel" for driving the truck with the car tagging behind. Matt starts on his way and from inside the house i hear the loudest screeeeech. Out of habit Matt had set the parking break on the car and was literally dragging it behind the moving truck!!
I won't dwell on here about how I'm feeling right now. Let's just say this is hard beyond words. Please keep Matt & Kristyn in your prayers. Take time to hug your little ones because they grow up too fast and there are days, like today for me, that are incredibly hard.
My "tiny dancer" moved away from me today and I will miss her.

My turn!!

Today is the day!! My turn to join the blogging world. I must admit I have several blogs that I check frequently and enjoy for very different reasons. I don't know who or if anyone will actually read this but I will do my best to make it interesting and hopefully a bit humorous at times. I may have a very different reason for blogging. Maybe not. I'm doing this for my kids. Not really for me, but for them. I've always thought those books that you fill out for your kids with memories or bits and pieces of who you are have been really cool. I even bought one once in hopes that I would take the time to fill it out and share it with my kids but it's still sitting unused somewhere!! So here I am with no excuse because I spend a good portion of each day on the computer. This way, no matter where my wonderful kids are at in the world, they can always click on momma's blog and enjoy a little piece of what I have to share for the day. I have learned a lot about people through their blogs and my hope is that I can share some things that will be meaningful to them or make them laugh a little. So, I hope that they will check it regularly (like they do Facebook!! Ya, right!!) and I hope to have some regular "blog stalkers" that will come along just to enjoy the ride. Please leave comments (and recipes!!)
Over the years I have scrapbooked, video taped, and photographed "life" with the intention of archiving memories for my kids. Scrapbooking and all of it's cutting and stickers eventually became work and not much fun. Video taping requires, well video taping, and usually by me, which meant that we have hours and hours of me hearing my voice on the tapes telling the kids to tell me how old they were, what day it was, and where we were at!! Don't get me wrong, every once in a great while we pop those tapes in and laugh at how little one of the kids was, the sound of their voices, or how I used to make Kristyn layer her socks to create a multi-colored mess to match whatever outfit she had on.
And then comes the photography part of my life and all of the magic that it brings. Taking pictures has always been a really big part of me. I remember getting my first camera in about 3rd or 4th grade. It was an instamatic (110 or something like that!!). It was long and skinny and used the little flash cubes that sat on the top of the camera and was good for 4 pictures!! Today I have lots of really cool cameras and all of the fun stuff that goes with them.
I'm a 40 something wife and mom of 4 crazy wonderful kids. I'm going to blog on each one of them individually (and my husband!!) so that I can really embarrass them, but for now I'll introduce them. Kristyn is 22. She is married to Matt (he'll get his own blog post too!!). She is not only my daughter but my business partner. Alyssa is 17, a senior at CFHS, and she loves to talk and laugh. Michael is 16, a junior at CFHS, and he loves to hunt and is a crazy hard worker. Johnathan is 15, a sophomore at CFHS, and he pretty much lives to play football. Yes, you are reading right, we have 3 at the high school. Like I said, they'll all get their own post.

A big part of my life, aside from motherhood, is the photography business that Kristyn and I have worked really hard to build the last few years. Come visit us at http://www.artoflightphoto.com/ We have our own blog there too. I won't elaborate here--just come visit!! If you're looking for some fun, creative, out-of-the-box photography, we're your gals. Alyssa is also a part of the photography biz so she rocks the camera when she can too!!
I never have liked introductions and I have a list a mile long of things I want to blog about, so for now........this is it..........carry on and check back in sometime in the next few days. Thanks for being here!! God Bless.
